Request Additional Records (from a different provider) for a Medical Records Retrieval Service

This function allows you to create a new Medical Records Retrieval request involving the same Client and Booking Company/Case Manager for the purpose of requesting medical records from a different provider.

Instead of creating a new Medical Records Retrieval, it is recommended to create a case by Requesting Additional Records so that the new created case obtains the following properties:

  • Cases will use the same Case Number: Additional Records cases adopt the same case number as the original but include a “-[num]” tail. By adopting the same case number, users can search the collection of Medical Record Retrievals required for the same Client.

    • Original Case: MR-0001234

    • 1st Additional Case: MR-0001234-1

    • 2nd Additional Case: MR-0001234-2

    • etc.

  • Client Details and Booking Company information are copied over to the new case upon creation.

Create a Medical Records Retrieval Case for Additional Records

Note: Only original cases can create Additional Records. i.e. cases that DON’T end with a “-[num]” tail.

  1. Go to Reporting Services (All Services) > Medical Records Retrieval (MR).

  2. Find and click your case’s corresponding three dots.

  3. Select Request Additional Records. A warning window will ask if you want to proceed. Click Yes, and a new Medical Records Retrieval case will be created for you with the same Client Details and Booking Company Information as the original.
